Owen

So, a little more than a week ago Owen started taking an antibiotic for an ear infection. He's taken the same one before so I didn't think anything about it. However, this morning he woke up saying his leg itched so bad and there were bumps. I looked at them and at first glance thought they were bug bites. Then I started checking him over and saw more bumps that he was scratching. It turns out he has had a reaction to the antibiotic. Not knowing this, I gave him his morning dose of medicine and it made things worse. He is covered in hives and now pink from calomine lotion and his right foot is swollen. We have given him Benedryl and keep rubbing lotion on him. I am praying he wakes up all better. It's been a tough month for him. From having a bad cold to starting to get better, to going back to being sick and then getting an ear infection and now this. I just wish he can get better and stay better. Juliana is on the same antibiotic for a major cough and started getting the ear infection but luckily she's taken it several times. So, let's hope she's on the road to recovery also.

Ugh!

Both kids are sick and I think I am catching it. My throat is starting to hurt and my nose is stuffy. I am pissed! I don't want to be sick. Juliana is getting a nasty cold. Her nose is very runny and stuffy and she has a bad cough. Owen is getting over a ear infection and has the stuffy nose also. It seems like they've both been sick for at least over a month. I'm ready to the sun to shine, the weather to get warm and the kids to be healthy. Oh yea, and for summer break!

Just my thoughts

We spent the day at the Museum today and had a wonderful time. The kids had so much fun and didn't want to leave. Owen of course loved the dinosaurs and Juliana loved the Space Odyssey and planetarium. She told me that for her "first job, she wants to be an astronaut". I told her that she had to tell her future bosses that the only way her mommy would let her go into space was to let me go with her. Still my dream job, pilot of the space shuttle. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't wish I would have done better in school and went for it. The desire and urge to be an astronaut is so strong.
My brother in law, Justin, told us that he is getting married June 12th! I am so happy for him. I didn't think he would ever find that special someone to spend the rest of his life with. I am glad he finally did. I just hope he isn't rushing into it. He has only been dating this girl since the beginning of February! I guess sometimes, when you know, you just know. She has a 2 year old son from a previous relationship and Justin is so good with him. I can't wait to meet them both.
I am looking for a great loss this week also. I am so excited to hit the weight I was when I got married. I need to lose 5 pounds to get there. I can't wait. This is the most I've lost ever. I am loving having more energy, feeling better and showing the kids that you can enjoy food even when it's healthy.

Week 10 Weight Loss

David and I both had a 0 lb loss for week 10. We were happy with that since it was a bad workout week. We were both busy in the evenings and couldn't fit the workout in this past week. But we are both back on track and ready for a good loss this week. I am looking forward to losing more weight and I am so close to weighing what I did when I got married! Yahoo!

Minor Set Back

Well, last week my foot, the top near the ankle bone, started hurting after my workouts. I took it easy for a couple days and it started to feel better so I did my usual workout this weekend and sure enough the pain came back.
I gave in and saw Candice (P.A. at my office) this afternoon. She told me that I had to take it easy for the next 2 weeks at a minimum and I probably have bad tendionitsis, possibly a stress fracture, or the tendions are pulling away from the bone, or I have torn some tendions. My weight loss is going to slow up the next couple weeks since I can't work as hard and not the usual stuff. I can't do any of the cardio I'm use to doing and I can't over do it. I will have to stick to mostly strength training, yoga and maybe some boxing. I have to go from working 2 hours a day to maybe 1. It's going to be tough, but since I'm hitting a wall anyway, maybe it's what I need. Bummer!!!!!!!
